The passage of time…

September 2023

September, my birthday month, always feels like the beginning of autumn.

Bright summer perennials continue to shine in the borders but beneath fruit-laden branches of quince and medlar the delicate pink and white flowers of hardy autumn-flowering cyclamen C. hederifolium herald the new season and mark the passage of time.

It’s been busy…

The SAC Annual Artists Trail Weekend over the weekend of 23/24th September was a great success for all the artists and makers involved. Many thanks to all who came along to my studio and bought pieces of my work and for the many kind comments made.

A frequent (and much appreciated) remark was on the calm and zen-like atmosphere of my studio.  This is most definitely something I strive to achieve but this photo taken the week before the trail will show you that’s not always thw case:-)

The life of an artist can be lonely so it was great to meet up with fellow members for the 23rd Annual  Artworks Exhibition at Blackthorpe Barn at the end of the month.

After the stresses involved in preparing for the show the opening night was a delight, as friends, colleagues and art collectors arrived for an evening buzzing with conversation, laughter and the clink of wine glasses. I was delighted that my painting ‘Old house, new paint’ was snapped up so quickly and just wish I had taken a better photograph of it!
