May has been an exciting month for me with a feature on my garden
in the June issue of The English
Garden Magazine (out now) and the
‘open day’ for the NGS proving a big
success!
Many thanks to all the kind friends who
helped make it into such a happy and
successful afternoon and to John Glover
for lending his ‘Crazy Pages’ song to
this small slideshow of the afternoon.
My garden is at last awash with colour
and although I have been eargerly
photographing bright red poppies and inky
‘Black Swan’ irises it is my pictures of the
subtle, drooping bells of Nectaroscordum
Siculum that I keep returning to. This
wonderful bulb is ideal for the mixed
border and once established will reward
you with its tall stems of pink and green
flowers that magically turn skywards once
they have set seed. Easy to grow too and
I would recommend you try it. |
