'Plants and gardens are a source of
constant inspiration to me and I enjoy
visiting great gardens almost as much as
working in my own.
The photo of me on the right was taken
at one of my favourites – Sissinghurst
Castle in Kent and the larger picture,
taken in early June shows my own
garden in North London.
It is a rectangular shaped garden of
about 10x25 metres with an ancient
gnarled apple tree in the centre, gently
sloping lawn and organic curving
borders. The trees which are its
backdrop provide a ‘borrowed landscape’
which I consider to be its best asset.
All gardens are constantly evolving and
with this monthly photo gallery I hope
to share with you my thoughts and
observations and the development of
my own garden through the seasons’. |
